“I hate the art world. I only became part of it because Banksy catapulted the movement into the stratosphere ”says Steve Lazarides, who worked with Banksy for over a decade. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-50237621…

Is this Banksy? Chris Kelly, digital editor, West of England

In 20 years working as a journalist in Bristol, I wrote dozens of Banksy stories, attended many of his shows, and took more photos than I would like to remember of his work. But only once have I seen who the elusive artist from Bristol thought he was.

In 2015, I was invited to Weston-super-Mare for a mysterious event in a disused outdoor pool. It turned out to be Dismaland.

I was one of the first journalists to walk through the door and spent the morning looking at the strange and wonderful collection of depressing-themed art.

But when he came out, there was an open door that led to an office. Inside was a group of people, one of whom had very familiar dark, shaggy hair, as seen in these photos.

The security guard marked that I had looked inside the office and quickly pushed me out the door.

Banksy seems to appreciate his anonymity and that’s what makes these rare photos of him in action even more interesting.

Photographs have apparently been released showing the elusive street artist Banksy.
