Photopea Is a Free Photoshop Clone That Runs in Your Browser

Photopea is a photoshop clone and it’s free

Do you want a Photoshop-style image editor without paying money and without downloading any software? Take a look at Photopea . It is a free Photoshop clone that runs directly in your web browser.

What is surprising is the fact that the application was created and is being developed by only one person: Ivan Kutskir, a 28-year-old programmer based in Prague, Czech Republic. Kutskir spent 7,000 hours developing the app while studying computer science at university, roughly 5 hours a day for 3.5 years, and last month a whopping 1.5 million people used it. Kutskir recently started placing ads on the app and now makes a decent income from his project.

“Our goal is to create the most advanced and affordable photo editor”Kutskir writes on the Photopea website.

Photopea what is it?

The similarities to Photoshop go beyond aesthetics – if you’re used to Photoshop, you’ll feel right at home with Photopea. You’ll find the same essential tools and the same workspace layout.

It supports most of the file formats you will need, from JPG and GIF to actual PSD files. And yes, Photopea supports layers, so you will be able to do some pretty complex editing in the app if you need to.

Other features include layer masks, blending modes, brushes, selections, and much, much more.
